Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the apartment community. He/She will verify, allocate and post details of business transactions to accounts or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs and computer printouts. Other duties include collections, maintenance of resident information systems and resident files and performing account reconciliations.

  • Maintain all incomes and outcomes of the company (property and non-property related)
  • Responsible for all credit card transactions
  • Handle all invoices, security deposit dispositions input into computer daily
  • Input all rents and electrical payments and billings
  • Assist with renewals as needed
  • Responsible for communicating with guests on late fees
  • Assist in maintaining general files and an organized office at all times
  • Reconciles and balances accounts
  • Computes, types and mails monthly statements to customers
  • Compiles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss and other items pertinent to operation of property
  • Assist Manager with any request work to be done on property
